Hi, I’m Karsten and I am a Freelance IT Infrastructure, DevOps & Platform Engineer.

Born and raised in Northern Germany I am now located in Karlsruhe after stations in Osnabrück, Nuremberg and Frankfurt.

I started my journey in the IT business as a Customer Support Agent and Windows Client Administrator.

I transitioned to the cloud business in 2015 and have been passionate about it ever since.

When I realized which possibilities the public clouds had to offer, I was convinced that this would be the future of IT.

So since then I decided to lay my focus on all things Cloud, container, Kubernetes, automation, infrastructure as code, CI/CD and building resilient, highly available infrastructure.

Until the end of 2022 I worked for a consultant company in Karlsruhe where I designed, deployed and operated multiple products and platforms in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud environments.

But it’s not only about Big Data, huge infrastructure migrations or massive Kubernetes workloads.

I believe that the cloud offers many tools and services that can benefit businesses and products of all sizes. By starting small and migrating services to the cloud, using serverless offerings or managed container frameworks, companies can take advantage of these tools and scale with growth.

The tools are out there and a lot of them are way cheaper than you might think. Why not use them? Start small, scale with growth!
